Alpro Blueberry Dairy Free Soya Yoghurt Alternative is a plant-based yoghurt designed for those who are lactose intolerant, vegan, or seeking dairy-free options. It combines the creamy texture of soya yoghurt with the vibrant taste of blueberries, providing a delicious and nutritious alternative to traditional dairy yoghurts.

However, we did find that with the blueberry Alpro yoghurt the bits did tend to get stuck in your teeth which is why our official Alpro blueberry yoghurt is a solid 4 stars.

Alpro offer smaller yoghurt pots in a variety of flavours. Take a look what we thought about each flavour below and if they’re worth your time.

Alpro Blackberry Yoghurts

Now we have to say that we’re not a fan of the blackberry Alpro yoghurts, in fact we found that the bits get stuck in your teeth easily and can be a pain to remove. Alpro Raspberry Cranberry Yoghurts

We think the Alpro Raspberry and cranberry yoghurts are an acquired taste. They have a bitter taste to them and pieces that can easily get stuck in your teeth, not a yoghurt you want to snack on quickly before a date that’s for sure. As we’re not the biggest fans of these Alpro Raspberry and Cranberry Yoghurts they get a 3-star review from the Reviewers United team.

We weren’t sure about the Alpro strawberry and banana yoghurts but they actually taste really nice. We’d happily eat them again and can give the Alpro Strawberry and Banana yoghurts a 5 star review. The flavour is rich, it’s not too heavy and they’re the perfect snack at lunch time for all.

Alpro Peach Pear Yoghurts

These Alpro Peach and Pear yoghurts sound like they’d be lovely but we didn’t really feel them all that much. The problem with combination yoghurts is not everyone is going to like the same thing and that’s the case with these Alpro peach and pear yoghurts. Are Alpro Yoghurts Low Fodmap

Alpro yoghurts may not be suitable for a low FODMAP diet. FODMAPs are types of carbohydrates that can be difficult to digest for some individuals, particularly those with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Here’s a breakdown:

High FODMAP Ingredients

  1. Soya:
    • The primary ingredient in most Alpro yoghurts is soya. Soya products, especially soya yoghurt, can be high in oligosaccharides (a type of FODMAP), making them potentially unsuitable for a low FODMAP diet.
  2. Added Fruits:
    • Some Alpro yoghurts contain added fruits like cherries, strawberries, or blueberries. While small portions of these fruits might be tolerated on a low FODMAP diet, they could contribute to higher FODMAP content in the yoghurt.

Low FODMAP Options

  1. Almond-Based Yoghurt:
    • Some Alpro yoghurts are made from almonds, which can be lower in FODMAPs compared to soya. Always check the ingredient list and nutrition information to ensure compliance with a low FODMAP diet.
  2. Coconut-Based Yoghurt:
    • Alpro also offers coconut-based yoghurts, which may be lower in FODMAPs and a better option for those following a low FODMAP diet. Again, portion size and additional ingredients should be considered.

Recommendations

  1. Check Labels:
    • Always check the ingredient list and nutritional information for any added high FODMAP ingredients.
  2. Consult with a Dietitian:
    • If you are following a low FODMAP diet, it’s best to consult with a dietitian who can help you identify suitable products and portion sizes.

While some Alpro yoghurts might be high in FODMAPs due to their soya content and added fruits, there may be suitable options such as almond or coconut-based variants. It’s crucial to check the specific product details and consult with a healthcare professional to ensure it fits within your low FODMAP dietary requirements.
